All About Veterinary Services of Chapel Hill
Veterinary Services was the first established veterinary hospital in Chapel Hill. It was started in 1989 by Dr. Greg Harris, owner and operator, who continues to do so today. During that time Dr. Harris has seen and treated countless large and small animals for the town of Chapel Hill and the surrounding areas.
Over the years Dr. Harris has had other vets and technicians working on board with him to service the needs of the clientele.
Currently, Dr. Alicia Wells has come to work for Veterinary Services in the capacity of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. She also assists Dr. Harris in his Large Animal Practice.
Dr. Ray Wakefield has joined our practice on Mondays to perform surgeries scheduled for that day.
Dr. Harris is one of the few veterinarians in the area who still does house calls for both large and small animal clients. He can travel as far as this side of Columbia and this side of Murfreesboro to see to his clients needs.
Dr. Harris along with Dr. Wells also are the only vets in the area who still manage their after hours emergency calls for their established clients by themselves, not relying solely on one of the surrounding emergency medical clinics for their after hours care and support. We do have a contract with an area Answering Service who will page the veterinarian on call for our established clients in case of emergency.
During business hours clients are seen in order of emergencies, appointments, and finally walk-ins. We recommend you do call and make an appointment to lessen your wait time.
We stress preventative health care by making sure your pet is seen on a yearly basis by our clinic and anytime in between that you feel the need to have your pet seen. We offer extensive diagnostics which include wellness checks, blood profiles, routine dentals, and more. We have several referel services should your pet require specialized medicine or diagnostic care.
Our hospital offers everything from basic healthcare including bi-annual and yearly vaccinations, deworming, heartworm, and flea prevention to Hill's Science Diet Prescription and Maintenance Diets. We offer full service to our patients including internal medicine, boarding and grooming, surgery, and nutritional health. We want your pet to have a healthy and long life with you due in part to the education and care that we provide to you and your pet.
