Due
to recent personal events at home and here at the farm we may or may not be able
to work your requests in. Please make sure that you notify us well in
advance if you need us. It may be hard to work in last minute visits if we
have a full week already. Please follow us on facebook to be notified of days we
are unavailable or booked up.
How and Why am I different??
Lewisburg is my hometown and Marshall County is my home for over 40 years
I am licensed with the City of Lewisburg as a business
Your first initial "Get to Know You and Your Pet" visit is free
No forms to fill out
No 'pre-bookings' or reservations required but we do appreciate advanced notice during heavy summer or holiday vacation times
I have been a vet tech/assistant since 1989, and am familiar with giving medications, dosing, and other veterinary care
My family owns a plumbing and electrical business in town, so if there are ANY problems with your home while you are away I can see that they are taken care of
I charge by the client, not a set fee - each individual pet owner and pet is different and so should be your cost
My rates are GUARANTEED to be the lowest around for the services and experience provided, and this does NOT affect the time spent with your pet or the quality of the service
I do not require you to jump thru hoops to suite my needs such as requiring your pet to have all of its vaccinations as some other pet sitting services require. It is your own business whether or not your pet is vaccinated (although Rabies is required by state law in TN). I do take necessary precautions regardless if it is vaccinated or not.
I am available ALL major holidays locally
I am available most times AT THE LAST MINUTE, even if you are on the road already (pending I have a key in hand for your home)
I do all and any type of animal EXCEPT REPTILES OR PET SPIDERS, however there is someone at the local pet store who will sit for these
I also do Farm Care and Calls as well as Small Animal Pet Sitting
I can call or text you and let you know how your pet is doing or you can call me to check on your pet

Starting
in 2010 we now offer text messaging for updates on your pets while you are
away. Ask us for more details on your initial visit or when you make
your appointment for our services.
If
payment for services rendered is not received within 5 days of the last day
of our visit, a late fee of $2 per day will be assessed. If late
payment occurs more than 3 times Critterhaven Pet Sitting will no longer be
able to care for your pet.
What is Critterhaven Pet Sitting?
Going out of town for a few days? Hate to leave Fido and Fifi at the kennel and away from home? Let me help!! I absolutely LOVE animals, and have many of my own to prove it!! I grew up on a farm and have always had animals in my life, from two legged to four legged to many legged to no legged...plus I have many years experience working with veterinarians both in Knoxville, Williamson County, and here in Lewisburg. I have references available on request from local customers of mine as well as from the local veterinarians I've worked with and for. Call any vet in the Lewisburg or Chapel Hill area and they will recommend me.
Rates:
Rates vary according to number of trips required, distance traveled, and other duties requested at residence. I start as low as $12 a day for a one time visit and go up from there depending on the number of times required during the day (a maximum of four). Four times a day usually runs around $25 if it is in the Lewisburg/Belfast area. Chapel Hill and Cornersville and other communities run a little more due to the distance to drive. Petersburg runs about $15 a day. A farm visit twice daily to Chapel Hill can run $75. A home or kennel visit to Chapel Hill can run $30-45 depending on the number of times I visit. A Lewisburg home visit 4 times daily can run $25-30. Most once a day cat visits in Lewisburg will be $12. This gives you some idea but your rates may vary. That is PER day, not PER visit. At the current time I cannot house sit overnight since I do have animals of my own to care for plus a family with 2 toddlers; however, I can go by and check on your pets as many times as you need, the maximum up to 4 times a day (7am, noon, 5pm, 10pm). I will also water plants, pick up your paper and mail, and generally keep an eye on the place while you are away. My rates are guaranteed to beat anyone else's in the area for the experience and services provided!! Don't believe me? Google TN pet sitters and see what their charges are...most are $16 and up PER Visit. My fees are for the day which could be 2-4 visits daily.

AS OF JULY 1ST, 2010 NEW CLIENTS MUST PAY IN ADVANCE AT MY MEET AND GREET VISIT FOR MY SERVICES. ESTABLISHED CLIENTS NEED TO LEAVE PAYMENT AT THE BEGINNING OF MY VISIT FOR THE ENTIRE SITTING TIME. IF I NEED TO COME AND PICK UP A KEY, YOU CAN GIVE ME A CHECK THEN FOR MY SERVICES.
This policy had to be changed and will be enforced due to a couple of non-paying clients. I'm sorry that I had to establish this new payment policy but I cannot afford to not be paid again for my time and travel.
I DO THIS TO SUPPLEMENT OUR INCOME AND AM A STAY AT HOME MOM, SO YOUR IMMEDIATE PAYMENT IS APPRECIATED.
If you end up coming back sooner than expected, no cash refund will be issued, however you will be given a credit of the remaining time good towards the next time that you need my services.

All I ask is that you leave an emergency number, a note giving me permission to seek medical treatment for your pet at their veterinarian should the need arise, and leave me any special instructions that I may need to know in your absence. No other forms are needed.
Your pet will be cared for as if he/she were my own. I am able to give emergency medical attention if needed, as well as any oral or injectable medications that your pet may require. Every vet in the area knows me and knows that I petsit for the public. I have worked with and for 5 out of the 8 vets in the area.
Pet Taxi:
Too busy to make a vet appointment or pickup your pooch from your vet or groomer? We also offer pet drop off and pick up services for cats and dogs. A minimum fee of $15 applies for this service.
Pet Product Pickup:
If you have run out of a medication or food or supplies, call me and I'll be glad to make a trip to the store for you. A fee of $15 applies to this service plus the cost of supplies.

The first visit is free to your home. This includes but isn't limited to:
We currently do not offer overnight pet sitting at your home.
Base rate is $12 for one time visit for up to 4 cats or up to 3 dogs. Final fees are based on a daily basis and not necessarily a per visit rate.
Daily rate is maximum of $50 per day within my service area unless you are a farm. Then rates go to an hourly rate.
Final quote of fees will be determined at the consultation visit depending on each situation.
RATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME.
NOTE: It is NOT always possible to accommodate specific time requests for any visits.
DOGS: AM visits will be some time between 6AM and 8AM
Lunch visits will be some time between 11:30AM and 1:00PM
PM visits will be some time between 5PM and 7PM
Before Bedtime visits will be some time between 9PM and 10:30PM
NOTE: Dog visits will never be more than 12 hours apart.
CATS: Cat visits vary depending on how many visits daily and when you wish me to do so. If I have dog sitting jobs during a certain time frame the cat sitting jobs will be done around them.
Please contact us as far in advance as possible. We suggest at least 2 week's notice but it is possible we can accommodate last minute requests for service. Our policy used to be we never book up, but due to the overwhelming number of new clients we are having to change this policy. It is possible that during the heavy summer vacation months we will fill up. I manage our farm and along with my animals and family I need to make time for them. I can no longer afford to only be home two hours a day when I have 10 jobs in one day.
I am currently able to offer my services to the towns of Lewisburg, Chapel Hill, Petersburg, Cornersville, and Belfast in Middle Tennessee.
