New Additions..happenings at the farm

Updated 1-31-08

1-31-08  Finally got the chance to update this page.  We are retaining two beautiful girls from this springs kidding.  Faith is not registered but is our last girl out of Blaze, a full blooded non registered nigerian dwarf.

Then there is our blue eyed soon to be triple registered spotted doeling out of Time Out Blue Sky, Critterhaven Farm Martina McBlue.  We can't WAIT to show her off more!!

Sky gave us a blue eyed GORGEOUS paint girl we are retaining.  She is just a doll. Unfortunately she had a twin sister that was 1/3 her size and not fully formed that was born about an hour later and didn't survive.  But Martina so far is thriving and we are so happy that Sky finally gave us a baby girl to keep..and with blue eyes too! Watch for her in the breeding stock in the future!

8-28-07   Well, we have had a rough few weeks.  The drought has forced us to cut back on our herd numbers so we have alot of goats for sale we normally would NOT be selling.

Then we had some beautiful little pot bellied pig babies born...!! They are gorgeous and get handled daily.  And we had a baby llama/alpaca born.  Shiloh will be for sale when weaned. Just gorgeous! And oh so cute and curious.

We have LOTS of chickens, ducks, geese, and pigeons for sale before winter gets here...email me for more details..it's like Noah's Ark times twenty around here!

The wonderful little blue eyed buckling we were keeping for a herd sire next year had a tragic accident over the weekend.  Somehow he got stuck in between the gate and the fence overnight in the cold temperatures and via stress and the cold he passed away after seizuring on Friday night.  We are heartbroken at the loss.  We still have his parents and will try again for the breeding next season.  But Taylor had a way of taking your heart and he will be missed.  Love you Taylor Blue!

On the other side of life we had our first mini alpine born the day Taylor passed! Her name is Serenity and she is being retained for now.

We also had Possum surprise us as she always does with a baby pygmy nigerian doeling born on Easter Sunday!! Her name is Midget and she is for sale.

I've decided to not load my front page up with so many pictures so everyone can load it.  Plus check out my new pot bellied pigs page here! This page may take awhile to load..lots of fun pics!

Meet our newest llama Patches. She is due with a baby cria in June. We are excited to have her join our herd and hope to be able to walk her in parades in the future.

Here is our mother turkey hen sitting on her nest.  Tombelina is her name. She is bred of course to Tom.  We'll be selling off baby turkeys unsexed when they get here.  We are NOT going to have a flock of turkeys!

This is Smudge Pudge...our resident mouser. She is a wonderful cat and reminds me so much of my first cat way back when named Torie...still miss that old girl.

This is Gizmo or Gizzy for short...our little Schnauzer Chihuahua mix.  I want her to be a mom just once so when our Pekinese gets big enough he and Gizzy will be boyfriend girlfriend.  We'll sell their babies as PekSchnihuahuas (pronounced Peksniwawas)...hey, everyone else is doing it...whoever heard of Puggles and Maltipoos before now?

This is Rascal Flatt, our new registered Peke boy. He is a doll
. I tell everyone he is of the
same spirit as my Smokie come back to take care of his mommy.

Here are new pics of Buttons and Junebug. They are turning into beautiful does.

This is Roo, my Phoenix rooster. He is so beautiful and so tame. I'm hoping I can show him at the TN State Fair this fall.

Carrara has been sick and I just wanted to show the rig we fixed up to help her stand...yes, that is an OLD bra of mine, rope, and a sawhorse. She isn't left in it unattended...and it helps.  Boogie was walking on her own after a week of being in it...and Carr was able to stand after 2 days on her own today after being in it a few hours.

Meet our ostrich...Crazy Mary...ain't she cute? And getting BIG!!

These are our baby piglets!! They will be sold when they are 8 weeks old (Female is sold already...Tater the male is still available).

This is Cloud..I purchased her to use in our breeding program but she is for sale now.

`

This is Chocolate Chip. She is a non registered Nigerian Dwarf doeling. She has just joined our her from her farm at Sweet Gum Minis in South Carolina. She hopefully is bred to one of their blue eyed bucks so any babies she has we will be retaining. Then her first doeling by Zorro will be offered to Sweet Gum Minis first.  She is so sweet!!

This is the new bottle baby, Boogie Bear.  She is a LOVE! Not sure what she is but I fell in love with her and well..the rest is history.

This is Google...isn't she neat? Obviously Nubian but what's up with the waddles? LOL! Makes her unique we think! I'm going to try and dehorn her with the castrator band method. Never tried it before but I figure she is young enough it should work. *Note* We ended up selling Google and she went to a wonderful new home!

We're going mini! Well, as an experiment we have purchased a nubian (see Junebug below) and an Alpine and will be breeding to Zorro to have minis.  This little gal above is Buttons, Zorro's first little mini Nubian daughter.  She was born at the Boyce's farm.  Isn't she cute??? She just joined our herd on 6-25-06. When old enough I plan on possibly breeding her to a friend's blue eyed Nigerian Dwarf buck.

This is Rose, the Alpine doeling from Angela Beasley at Sunrise Meadows Dairy Goats.  We will be breeding her to Zorro for Mini Alpines. She is SUCH a love..follows us around like a puppy! She is ADGA registered.

*Note* Alas, we lost poor Rose one cold winter night.  She had been staying under the heat lamp in the barn but the one night we left it off she went and got under a shelter we had and I found her there the next day.  She was such a love and will be sorely missed. I know she is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge to greet us again.

This is Carrara...a type of marble..she she is a wonderful addition to our herd...thank you to Joy in Lake City, TN! Another Nubian to add to the herd for some mini Nubians.  She is ADGA registered.

We've been breeding Nigerian Dwarf goats and I had the opportunity to obtain a beautiful spotted Nubian doe now from Willandrey Farm here in Lewisburg.  Junebug is now making her home with us.  We will be breeding her to Zorro to obtain some beautiful mini Nubians in the fall.
