Welcome to the one and only webring dedicated to Homicide: Life on the Street fanfic.  This ring is not exclusive to Homicide fanfic only, but your site must contain at least one piece of Homicide fanfic.  That's the now cancelled NBC show Homicide and not just homicide fanfiction, understand?

Warning:

While this site itself does not contain any language or situations deemed inappropriate for young children, the sites contained within the webring itself might.  Web authors have been made aware to make sure their sites notify visitors of these facts, however the sites are theirs and thus the decision is up to them whether to abide by this request or not.  Caution while viewing stories archived within is advised.

Rules:

As stated above your site must contain at least one Homicide fanfic piece.  No exceptions.  Archives may also submit to the site and insert the html code on their main page.  That's another part of the rules.  You do NOT need to insert the code on the page with the story unless it is a)your only piece of fanfic dedicated to Homicide, or b)you just want it to appear on the main page of your total pages.  HOWEVER, I suggest that as a courtesy you place it somewhere with a direct link above or below it to your fanfic page.  People do not want to search everywhere for one story on Homicide out of your possible dozens of others. This is merely a request and not a stipulation for submission to the webring.

Your site may also contain fanfic of an adult nature, HOWEVER all disclaimers and appropriate classification must be noted at the start of the piece in an obvious place.  The following ranking system is suggested for your use.  This is not the only example of what will be deemed appropriate, this is merely an example of a fair warning to unsuspecting viewers out there. While I have no control over your archives there are certain internet guidelines and rules that must be followed.  This is done as a mere courtesy to those who may be surfing the web unawares.

How to Join:

If you think your site should be on the webring, here are the things you must do to
join. Please follow them closely to make sure the ring works! You will need to add to
your site the icon set and one of the HTML fragments. The fragment is a .txt file. You will
need to copy and paste it onto your site, making the appropriate changes to it.

Also, SAVE THE IMAGES TO YOUR SITE.  Do not link them off of my site.

You may choose any combination of the four icons listed, but you must redo the code to read which icons you use.

For example Image one will be homicon1.gif, Image Two is homicon2.gif, etc.

Second, you need to submit your site. Please fill in all the information. The password should be one that you'll be able to remember easily.

If I check your site for admission and the HTML fragment is not on your
page, I can't admit you to the ring.

When you made your submission, you were given a site ID. In your HTML fragment,
change the references which read

http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=homfanfic&id=_SITE_ID_HERE_&next

so that they include YOUR site ID. For example, if your site ID is 444, the a href should
be something like

http://www.webring.org/cgi-bin/webring?ring=homfanfic&id=444&next

Once you've done that, send an e-mail to me and ask me to add you to the ring. Be sure to include your Site ID Number in the message. I will look at your page to make sure the webring HTML fragment is on your page and working correctly. After checking out your page, I will add you to the ring. You should then receive an e-mail telling you you've been added.
