Sales Policy: No money will be taken prior to kid being born. Reservations may be made and your spot will be reserved in our kidding schedule. Upon the kidding you have chosen you will notified of the results of the kidding and you will have 24 hours to decide if you want said kid. After the 24 hour notice the kid will be offered to the next name on the list. You must pay 1/2 deposit to hold the kid of your choice until weaned. You may send a check or money order or pay via paypal with bank transfer, echeck, or credit card. Upon pickup you must pay the balance in cash. No personal checks will be accepted upon pickup.
If buying an adult goat you must pay 1/2 deposit in order to hold a goat for pickup. You may also pay the total amount. However if only partial payment is paid remainder must be paid in cash when goat is picked up. No personal checks upon pickup.
Sales Guarantee: Our farm raises happy and healthy goats. However there is always the chance that any goat kid may develop problems. If your veterinarian determines something is genetically wrong with a kid you have purchased from our farm we will take the kid back and refund your money. You have a 72 hour vet guarantee time window to have your kid checked out by your vet. In some instances we may have treated your kid as a preventative measure for such things as coccidia or deworming recently, in which case we will notify you of the treatment. If you have any problems or questions it is your responsibility to contact us as soon as any problems may develop so that we can advise you on how to proceed. Critterhaven Farm will not be held responsible for any problems that arise due to new owner neglect.
We also do not guarantee bred any doe we may sell. They are exposed to bucks but we do not hand breed them. All due dates are approximate.
While we do not guarantee show quality babies (we currently only breed and do not show our goats) are does are out of exceptional show lines and milking backgrounds. See their pages for these pedigrees.
Pricing: Our goat vary in prices. We reserve the right to change our prices at anytime, however if you are quoted a price on a baby which is born that price will not change. I cannot give you an exact pricing until the babies are here. My pricing is based on registered or not, coloration, conformation, buck or doe, and a variety of other factors. Sometimes I will sell a plain jane wether non registered for $50 or upwards..those are few and far between with the color variations and conformation I am now getting, and with the money involved in producing even a single baby. But a non registered spotted up or a registered wether will go for $100 and up.
A doeling will sell from $150 for non registered up to $300 or more for a blue eyed double registered girl. None of my doelings will sell for less than $125.
A buckling varies from $100 for a non registered up to $300 or more for a blue eyed double registered herd sire and show boy.
This gives you some idea of the price range...and as a breeder I can never tell you from one year to the next what I will have or what my price range will be.
And remember, you are buying quality goats from us. We take the time to spend with each baby, letting them know who we are and that they are loved. The parents are tested for 3 different goat diseases. And that costs money. We spent nearly $600 in tests last year on our goats. Considering fencing in just the back field was over $1200, we plan on spending $1000 to fence the front field, hay runs about $800 a year or more, feed runs around $70 a week, AND wormers and vaccinations are not cheap either, well you can see where raising goats can be an expensive enterprise!
Delivery: Critterhaven Farm will deliver within an 80 mile radius of the farm as determined by Yahoo Maps. There will be a $25 service fee in addition to mileage applied to all deliveries as of February 25, 2008. Mileage will be figured as $1.00 per mile one way. We do not SHIP goats or livestock. We will however work with any ground transport service you arrange. We will not ship via the airlines. If traveling across state lines a health paper is required. This is a vet charge of $35 for this service. Health certificates are good for 30 days from the date of issue. Pickup must fall within those 30 days or another $35 fee will be assessed.
Refund Policy: The only case in which a refund will be issued prior to the delivery of a kid is if in the off chance said kid becomes unavailable due to an accident or death. If this happens you will be offered a refund of your 1/2 deposit or said deposit may be applied to another kid. The only situation in which a refund will be offered after you receive your kid will be in the above mentioned situation where your veterinarian determines there is a genetic problem with your kid. Then a refund will be issued upon return of kid to Critterhaven Farm.
Return Policy: A kid may be returned to Critterhaven Farm in the following situations: 1) New owner must find a new home for said kid and cannot list for sale anywhere and wishes to return to Critterhaven Farm. No refund will be issued. 2) New owner feels only option is to send kid or kid that has become adult to slaughter. In this case PLEASE return the goat to Critterhaven Farm as an option. No refund will be issued. 3) If your vet determines the goat has genetic problems Critterhaven Farm will accept return of said kid and refund issued.
Critterhaven reserves the right to reserve a kid from any breeding up until the time is delivered or picked up, even if a deposit has been paid on a particular kid.
