Critterhaven
Critterhaven Farm is located in
Southern Middle Tennessee in Belfast. We love all of our animals here at the farm, from
the chickens to the geese to the goats, and everything in between!
NOTE: We
are NOT a touring facility, merely a small breeding and hobby farm. For
insurance purposes, group tours are
not permitted at this time. Please call and do not just stop by. We have
feeding schedules and our own children to care for and it is not recommended you
just drop in. If you are interested in purchasing animals please call or
email ahead for an appointment.
OUR
STORY:
We started
out with a couple of non registered plain old goats. We were hooked!
After that we purchased 2 non registered nigerians and the rest is
history. We were so taken with the breed that we purchased our registered
stock over a 2 year period and today we have what we were looking for in our
herd. We breed for quality, color, and overall health in our
animals. This year we are striving for blue eyes and have purchased 5
registered does to suit that purpose. After 5 years of breeding and raising
goats we are still learning and do not mind answering any questions to help
other new goat owners.
Our farm
was featured in the program published by the Belfast Publishing Company
which was available for sale at the Goats Music and More Festival! We were
also featured in an article in their first edition of the Marshall Post news
magazine!
We tested (6-5-06) NEGATIVE
for CAE/CL/ and Johnnes!! Our herd is now closed and everything over 6 months
will be retested for 2008 in May. Our herd is
happy and healthy and loving their babies right now!
For those
of you that follow the Goats Music and More Festival happenings I've set up a
Yahoo Group for information as it becomes available and comments
afterwards. To join see the link near the bottom of the page.
You should
see the colors we got this kidding season....our goats are great quality and healthy goats for the hobby farmer!
I've
decided to not load my front page up with so many pictures so everyone can load
it. New additions to the herd can be seen here. Plus
check out my new pot bellied pigs page here!
Our small
herd now numbers about 30 goats and about 5 bucks. We are very happy with what
Zorro gives us as a herd sire and we are very excited to have a Lazy Q blue eyed ND
black and white buck added to our herd. Captain Jack Sparrow will be added
to the breeding program fall of 2008. We have 3 very special show ND does
we cannot wait for him to breed.
We have
also added a buck out of Chinook Winds Farm that we are looking forward to
breeding. Getting the great Baywatch's bloodlines into our herd will be a
plus. No doubt we will be keeping doelings this fall from those breedings.
We also
have great mini nubian bucks from Angela Cummings at Patchwork Acres that we
look forward to adding to our breeding program. We have both registered
and non registered Nubian and mini nubian does whom we are matching up with the
appropriate bucks. Just love those floppy ears! We have also joined the Mini Dairy Goat Association and the National Mini Nubian
Breeders Club in anticipation of these breedings.
Watch my sale page or subscribe to the
critterhaven yahoo group to find out first when babies become available. I
usually post them for sale within 2 days of birth.
Please
take a few moments to browse through our website and let us know what you

the farm...our llama baby girl.
Also subscribe to our newsletter
at yahoogroups to get updates on what we have for sale and to keep up with the
goings on around here.
We are
going to be offering a variety of ducks, geese, silkies, mixed hens and roos,
phoenix chickens, and pigeons this summer. I'm phasing out all of my pigeons
except for the Modenas, Lahores, and Owls...everything else will be for sale.
We pride ourselves in having healthy stock and year round layers.
WE DO
NOT SHIP ANIMALS OR POULTRY. PICKUP ONLY HERE AT THE FARM.
Our
animals are not sold for meat, however we do use their eggs and we hope to start
using our goats for milking and making our own products with the goat milk
eventually.

On August 8th 2007 I lost
my beloved Tips. She was the founding reason behind these web pages, and
the inspiration for my first 'online' persona Tipster. She was my world
and my life. I told people she was my child before I had my two legged
children. I will love and miss her til the day I die, and will welcome the
day when I meet her on the Rainbow Bridge. She will always hold my
heart.
