Critterhaven Farm Breeding Schedule

Updated 1-10-12

http://www.critterhaven.com/kidsfun.gif

If you have inquired about a kidding or if I had promised you back a pairing for a sell or trade, I will continue to honor my word for a kidding from any of our future kiddings.  We are not retiring completely from our goats, just downsizing and concentrating on our home, farm, family, and more important things.

PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND ARE POSTED ON NON KIDDED DOES FOR ESTIMATES ONLY.  Once a doe kids and the price is posted, that price goes into effect and is firm.

All kids will be kept here at the farm until at least 12 weeks of age unless you have bottle raised before and prefer to get your kid after they have received mom's colostrum.

All of our registered babies are AGS/NDGA registered and will be sold registered.  You will only have to fill out the transfer paper.  Therefore we will be naming the kids unless you notify us that you have a name you wish to use.

We reserve the right to retain any kid at any time up til the time it is picked up for the future of our herd. Absolutely NO baby will be sold until it is determined it is fit to go to it's new home.

You can verbally reserve your choice of breeding at any time but no money will be taken until the kid is actually here.  Upon evaluation of said kid you will be notified of availability of the breeding of your choice. At that time a 50% non refundable deposit is required to hold your baby until pickup and at that time the remainder of the balance must be paid by CASH only at time of pickup at the farm.

Babies MUST be picked up within 2 weeks of them being able to be sold. In other words if they are weaned at 12 weeks you have til they are 14 weeks to pick them up.  No holds past the two week mark.  If for some reason the baby has to stay here due to your circumstances, a $2 per day feed/board charge will apply.

If a buyer wants a vet check, testing, or health certificate, this can be done in advance at the cost to the buyer.  Our goats are guaranteed to be healthy upon the sale of the animal.  We cannot guarantee the health of an animal once it leaves our possession.  Please understand that a move on any goat is stressful, and be aware of the problems that may arise once you get your goat home and be prepared for every possibility at that time.

Our babies are dam raised if at all possible.  We do however provide the dam raised babies with a special milk formula or their dams' milk in one bottle a day for a few weeks in order to more socialize them and in case of emergency allow them to know what a bottle is.  Our babies are handled daily, removed from the herd at night, and in the morning returned to the herd.  This allows them to still like people but also be a goat, and it gives the moms a rest overnight!  We believe it is important that they have the herd mentality, even the bottle babies.

All of our pregnant dams are given CD/T and Selenium shots one month prior to giving birth.  The kids receive a CD/T vaccine at disbudding, then again two weeks later.  We treat at 2 weeks old with Baycox as a precaution, then again at 2 weeks later and every 2 weeks until they are 12 weeks.  Further treatment may continue if we feel the need and we may send a dose or two home with you to continue treatment after the sale.  We will tattoo them prior to the sale.  The moms are also dewormed the day after they give birth.   All bucklings still intact at 12 weeks will be wethered unless being retained in our herd or an exceptional potential for a herdsire.

Our Herdname is now the same with NDGA and AGS:  CritterKidz

And with AGS it is CritterZFarm

Prior to 2009 it was  NDGA = "Critterhaven" and  AGS = "CHaven"

All kids will be registered as such with each registry.  All registereable kids will be named prior to leaving the farm and registry papers (if in hand) given to new owners with transfer forms.  This is to insure all of our registerable goats are registered in a timely manner and it will also save you the fee of registering said animal.

No money will be taken until a baby is born. You will be notified as soon as a baby of your choosing is born and at that time in order to reserve your baby you will need to pay at least 1/2 down. Reservations are first come first serve based on the date of the call or email and as to which breeding you would like a baby.  If you reserve babies and then do not follow thru on purchases up to 3 reservations your future reservations status will be eliminated.  Only those who follow through on purchases will be allowed to continuously reserve.

Do NOT insult me by offering lower than the prices listed.  We spend time AND money with our babies and our breeding animals and do not sell below average stock.  There are plenty of flea markets and sale barns in the area with fair to average stock for you to purchase at low prices.  Our animals are carefully monitored for disease, do not come into contact with other goats, and are medically treated if necessary for any and all illnesses.  We pay anywhere from $300-$400 for our breeding does and bucks at initial purchase.  Therefore we feel very confident with the pricing of their kids.  Sorry to be so firm, but we've had buyers offer $50 for a triple reg. doeling before.  We will not accept such offers for our quality stock, whether registered or non registered.

I have too many people emailing me so I do not keep a want list for people.  If you want to be notified of when babies are born or be first to know, then you need to like us on our facebook page.  The link is on our homepage. I usually post there the days the kids are born, even before I post them on my website.
